Where has the year gone? So much has happened!
Firstly, the Board has seen some changes with more to come at our next AGM. Secondly, ComLink has seen additional funding across Queensland and this further funding has taken us into new regions throughout Queensland.
This is my last report as the Chairman, as I will be standing down at the AGM, in November. It has been an honour to be the Chairman of ComLink and I am sure that the Director who succeeds me will lead the Board and assist the CEO, staff and volunteers to take ComLink to even higher places. I have been fortunate to serve on the ComLink Board for the past eight years.
ComLink has a proud history built up over the last thirty years and this year we have added to this history with some property purchases.
During the year we appointed our Chief Operating Officer Rosie Overfield and she has quickly settled into her new role and I wish her all the very best.
One of my last tasks as Chairman is to ensure the organisation is placed in good hands. Supporting this transition, ComLink has a strong Board and leadership team. I am pleased that I am able to leave ComLink knowing we are in a strong financial position with a great vision for the future.
It has been a privilege to serve this organisation over the last sixteen years as a volunteer driver, a volunteer at Kawana Companions with my wife Het, a Committee member, Director and Chairman. I have been very fortunate to work closely with Feda Adra our CEO since she joined us in 2004. ComLink would not be the organisation it is today without the loyalty and support from all our staff and volunteers throughout Queensland.
In closing, I must congratulate my fellow Directors, our C Suite, the staff and volunteers for the great results that have been achieved this year.
I have a feeling and I cannot say why, but I know next year will be full of fantastic surprises that will definitely take ComLink to greater places. The future of ComLink is in good hands.
